Talking about the flipped (MOOC-style) Business Analytics course at INFORMS

I'll be describing and discussing my efforts and experience in re-designing the Business Analytics Using Data Mining course as a hybrid semi-MOOC course in tomorrow's 11am Analytics/INFORMS-Ed session at INFORMS. Two talks at CIST today: impact assessment using trees; One-way mirrors in online dating

I'll be presenting our paper "Impact Assessment in Observational Studies: A Classification and Regression Tree Approach" (with Deepa Mani) in today's 2pm session at CIST 2013, Room 102A.

In the 11am session, Akhmed Umyarov will be presenting our paper (with Ravi Bapna and Jui Ramprasad) "One-Way Mirrors in Online Dating: A Randomized Field Experiment".

Instructing 2-day workshop on Data Exploration & Visualization (INFORMS Continuing Education Program)

I'll be co-instructing a two-day intensive workshop on Data Exploration and Visualization, together with David Hardoon, as part of the new INFORMS Continuing Education program. The workshop will take place in two locations: Redwood City (Sept 30-Oct 1, 2013) and Minneapolis (Oct 3-4, 2013).

Our project covered on Bhutan National TV

BBS, Bhutan's national TV, covered the Sherig Collection project initiated and implemented by the Rigsum Research Lab that I co-direct. This project has gained huge momentum, bringing eLearning to all schools in the Kingdom of Bhutan, as well as to homes.

Delivering talk on "An Information Quality (InfoQ) Framework" at IDAM 2013 in Taiwan

I'll be presenting my joint work with Ron Kenett on Information Quality (InfoQ) at the upcoming 3rd Workshop on Intelligent Data Analysis and Management (IDAM) 2013 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan next week. The talk, entitled "An Information Quality (InfoQ) Framework forEx-Ante and Ex-Post Evaluation of Empirical Studies", will describe two experiences of integrating the InfoQ framework into graduate programs: at the PhD proposal stage (University of Ljubljana) and in the Masters Program in Applied Statistics at Carnegie Mellon University.
